Job summary

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Drink team, overseeing Peacock Alley and Goldfinch Brasserie. You will lead the daily operations, model exemplary service, and develop the team while maintaining the highest standards.

This role requires strong English communication, a flexible, guest-centric approach and the ability to partner with culinary and hotel departments to deliver memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within Food & Drink, preferably within luxury hospitality.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong presence on the floor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of revenue, costs and labour management.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Flexibility to work across both venues according to operation needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach and develop the Food & Drink team.
• Oversee daily operations of Peacock Alley and Goldfinch Brasserie.
• Ensure Waldorf Astoria service standards are consistently delivered.
• Create memorable and personalised experiences for guests.
• Take ownership of guest feedback and resolve challenges with care.
• Conduct daily briefings and ensure clear communication across team and hotel departments.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of team members.
• Prepare efficient schedules based on business levels and forecasts.
• Drive revenue through product knowledge, recommendations and upselling while prioritising guest experience.
• Support cost control, inventory management and overall profitability of venues.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve service and operation.
• Ensure all areas meet standards for presentation, cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety.
• Collaborate with Culinary team and other hotel departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.
