Job summary

MONDAVI Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller in Geldermalsen (near Utrecht). The role focuses on posting and validating financial documents, reconciling ledgers, and supporting month-end close in a growing international environment.

You will work with multiple departments, ensure data quality, and contribute to ERP-driven process improvements. A degree in accounting/finance and 3+ years in accounting are required; Polish and English are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting department.
• Practical knowledge of AP, AR, GL, settlements/reconciliations, banking and month-end closing.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proficient communication in Polish and English; Dutch a plus.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and deadline discipline.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Posting cost, bank and other business transaction documents.
• Verifying the accuracy of documents from a formal, tax and accounting perspective.
• Reconciling general ledger accounts, subledgers, bank accounts and supporting records.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Cooperating with Purchasing, Sales, Logistics, Production and Controlling departments.
• Communicating with suppliers, customers, auditors and other group companies regarding accounting matters.
• Participating in the improvement of accounting processes, document workflows and data quality within the ERP system.

On behalf of one of our clients in Geldermalsen (in the near future Utrecht), we are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller. Do you have solid experience within an accounting department and are you looking for a broad finance role in an international, growing organisation? Read on!

The job profile

What you bring

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position within an accounting department
• Practical knowledge of key accounting processes: AP, AR, GL, settlements/reconciliations, banking and month-end closing
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Able to speak and write in Polish and English; Dutch is a plus
• Accuracy, responsibility and the ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks
• Strong communication skills and willingness to cooperate with other departments across the organisation
