Job summary

The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is seeking a dedicated Baker to join Janine Bakery & Bakery in Amsterdam. You will craft artisanal breads, pastries and cakes, while maintaining high brand standards and collaborating with the Head Baker.

Responsibilities include dough work, proofing, shaping and finishing, ensuring consistency, and upholding hygiene and safety. Flexibility for early shifts and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Cook or similar role in a bakery, hotel, or restaurant.
• Practical knowledge of dough preparation, proofing, shaping and finishing techniques.
• Experience with artisanal breads, pastries, or viennoiserie; sourdough knowledge is a plus.
• Team oriented with willingness to learn and take guidance from senior staff.
• Flexible to work early mornings and weekends; eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, shape and bake breads, pastries and cakes following established recipes and standards.
• Assist with sourdough starters, viennoiserie and artisanal techniques.
• Maintain consistency in taste, texture and presentation of baked goods.
• Keep a clean, safe work environment in line with hygiene and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production schedules and guest demand.
• Take part in training and continuously improve craft.
