Job summary

Oracle in Amsterdam is seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to join our onsite operations team. You will support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operation of production data center infrastructure.

You’ll work with server hardware, rack and stack, cabling, and incident triage in a two-shift Monday–Friday rotation, with on-call participation as required. This is a fully onsite role in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a data center environment.
• Practical experience with server hardware including troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Working knowledge of Linux and basic troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of power, cooling, networking fundamentals and cabling.
• Experience with rack and stack, hardware installations, and cabling.
• Ability to troubleshoot standard operational and hardware issues independently; escalate when needed.
• Comfortable with two-shift Monday–Friday rotation and on-call rotation.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to documentation and SOPs.
• Clear communication within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on onsite support in a production data center environment, including hardware break/fix and diagnostics.
• Perform rack and stack, installation, configuration, cabling, and testing of servers and data center equipment.
• Support infrastructure deployments and ensure work follows established procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance, firmware updates, and hardware health checks.
• Triage and respond to incidents and service requests; escalate when necessary.
• Perform structured cabling activities including patching, labeling, tracing, and cable management.
• Maintain accurate asset, parts, and spare inventory; support audits.
• Follow SOPs, safety standards and operational processes; identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain clear documentation of work performed, incidents, and troubleshooting steps.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, operations teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Work as part of a shift-based, multidisciplinary data center operations team; ensure smooth handovers.
