Role Overview
As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center hardware. This includes executing tasks according to established protocols and ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, stage, and set up hardware (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions and standard procedures.
- Perform startups and shutdowns of equipment as per checklists and deployment guides.
- Conduct post-execution quality checks to verify proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identifying root causes and replacing faulty components.
- Decommission hardware for routine changes and upgrades (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds).
- Escalate incidents appropriately to Datacenter Technician Leads.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow communication protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

- Previous experience working in a data center environment.
