Job summary

TOPdesk is seeking an Engineering Manager in the Netherlands to lead one or two teams with a technical mission—front-end, middleware, back-end, data, or platform—driving technical direction and delivery within architectural guardrails. You will grow engineers, hire with clarity, and own the team's roadmap, ensuring quality, security, and stability while advancing AI-native SDLC practices.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architects and report to domain engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Engineering manager with a track record of growing engineers and owning delivery.
• Strong technical foundation in front-end, back-end, data, or platform domains.
• Experience with AI-native delivery and Claude Code.
• Talent development and tough decision-making.
• Comfortable in ambiguity and working with legacy codebases; strong communicator.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and set team standards within architectural guardrails.
• Grow engineers into senior and staff roles.
• Own team delivery, cycle time, quality, and operational stability.
• Operate agents and contribute to Claude Code initiatives.
