• Completed HBO-level education in a relevant field.
• At least four years of AI/ML, software engineering or data experience.
• Strong Python and modern AI/ML tooling experience.
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI and RAG technologies.
• APIs, backend development and microservices experience.
• Experience designing AI solutions including chatbots and document analysis.
• Experience deploying AI solutions from concept to production.
• Knowledge of cloud and microservices, including Azure and containers.
• Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value for stakeholders.
• Compliance with security, privacy and Responsible AI guidelines.
• Minimum Dutch level C1.

As an AI Engineer at Brunel, you will design, develop and implement AI solutions for complex government organizations. You will help bring generative AI applications from experimentation into production and ensure they deliver practical business and social value. Working with technical teams, business stakeholders and management, you will contribute to solutions at the intersection of technology, policy and implementation.

Job requirements

• A completed higher professional education degree, preferably in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering or a comparable field.
• At least four years of experience in AI/ML, software engineering or data.
• Demonstrable experience with Python and modern AI/ML tooling.
• Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG or comparable technologies.
• Experience with APIs, backend development and microservices.
• Experience designing and developing AI solutions, including chatbots, document analysis and intelligent agents.
• Experience implementing and operationalizing solutions from concept through production.
• Knowledge of cloud and microservices architectures, including Azure and containers.
• Ability to advise business stakeholders, translate technical capabilities into business value, and work with teams and management.
• Ability to ensure compliance with security, privacy and Responsible AI guidelines.
• Minimum C1 level of Dutch.

Additional information

Brunel offers a gross monthly salary of up to €7,500 depending on experience, excluding 8% holiday allowance.
