A consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an experienced AS400 Developer/Engineer with strong skills in RPG, COBOL, and system operations. The candidate will maintain and enhance applications on the AS400 platform, manage databases with DB2, and automate data exports. Responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues and ensuring system stability in a dynamic banking environment. Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with AS400 system operations.
- Strong understanding of native AS400 database.
- Strong programming and development experience in RPG IV / ILE.
- Proficiency in maintaining and enhancing legacy COBOL applications.
- Expertise in job scripting and automation using Control Language (CL).
- Experience in data export, automation, and integration with external platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

We are seeking an experienced AS400 (IBM iSeries) Developer/Engineer with a strong background in RPG, COBOL, and CL programming. This role requires hands‑on experience with AS400 system operations, data export processes, and integration with external platforms. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing applications, supporting production activities, and ensuring system stability within a dynamic banking environment.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the AS400 (IBM iSeries) platform
- Work with DB2 for i Native to manage data structures, queries, and database operations
- Automate recurring data export jobs and support integration with external systems
- Perform system maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

- AS400 / IBM iSeries: Proven hands‑on experience with midrange system operations
- DB2 for i Native: Strong understanding of native AS400 database
- RPG IV / ILE: Strong programming and development experience

- CL (Control Language): Expertise in job scripting, automation, and command‑based operations
