Sales Manager, Cosmetic Ingredients (DACH) – Germany (Remote) - Mid-Sized Manufacturer
Irving Knight has partnered with a highly innovative and reputable Cosmetic Ingredient Manufacturer to identify a Sales Manager focused on the DACH region. My client is very well known for their Preservatives and Actives but boasts a portfolio of 300+ scientifically backed ingredients.
Interestingly, my client invests 4% of all revenue into R&D and releases six new ingredients per year on average, making them one of the most innovative companies on the market. They also have a 50/50 gender diversity split at management level.
This role will focus on growing the existing €2m business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The position is fully remote with 30% travel across the region, managing two distribution partners. Key Responsibilities Include :
- Reporting to the EMEA Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth across DACH with up to 30% travel.
- Utilize your product knowledge and sales experience to clearly communicate the value proposition.
- Sustain and improve customer service through innovative initiatives.
- Monitor industry changes, emerging markets, new products, and competitive landscapes.
- Participate in industry tradeshows and events as required.
- Represent your employer at conferences, industry events, and on social media platforms.
- Apply effective sales techniques when prospecting and communicating with potential customers.
- Guide prospects through the sales process to secure new business.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, both in person and virtually.
- Arrange in-person customer visits with various company contacts.
- Address customer questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
- Send quotes and samples to customers as needed.
- Participate in new product launches, training, and joint sales efforts.
- Report customer issues, meetings, and opportunities regularly.
- Collaborate closely with product management, pricing, and R&D teams.
Qualifications
- A technical degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or similar is preferred.
- Proven success in acquiring new customers and driving sales, with measurable results.
- Minimum of three years' experience selling Cosmetic Ingredients within Germany and ideally the broader DACH region; seven or more years preferred.
- Fluency in English and German is essential; additional languages are a plus.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.
- Existing network within the Personal Care industry is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel more than 30% of the time.
