Job summary

OAG Group of Companies is seeking a Welding Engineer to serve as the technical SME across front-end bidding to on-site implementation, quality tracking, performance analysis, and continuous improvement. You will ensure client specs are met and drive value from bid to production.

The role requires 10+ years in welding engineering, deep knowledge of welding processes and testing (WPS/WPQT/WQT), and strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in welding engineering, procedure qualifications, and data-driven production environments.
• Deep technical knowledge of welding processes, specifications, and qualification testing (WPS, WPQT, WQT).
• Ability to interpret complex client engineering and technical bidding specifications.
• Production data analysis and reporting proficiency using Power BI.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main interlocutor during BD & Proposal internal meetings for all welding technical topics.
• Assimilate welding specifications received from clients during the bidding stage and issue a clear summary to concerned OAG divisions.
• Review all proposals to confirm that all welding specifications have been accurately quoted according to client requests.
• Initiate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) meetings with all concerned divisions and co-workers within the Welding Division, aiming to run Welding Procedure Qualification Tests (WPQT) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) accordingly.
• Review project Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and provide strategic guidelines to minimize repair rates and increase production rates.
• Analyze welding production metrics and performance trends utilizing Power BI tools.
• Draft and maintain the Welding Lessons Learned master file.
• Review the continuous improvement action list on a monthly basis alongside concerned divisions and the Welding Division management team.
• Actively participate in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) enforcement within the workshop as per OAG Group targets.
• Mobilization on project site whenever required by Management.

About the role

The Welding Engineer serves as the primary technical subject matter expert for all welding-related topics within the OAG Group. The role spans from front-end bidding and proposal evaluation to operational implementation, quality tracking, performance analysis, and continuous improvement. This position ensures that client welding specifications are accurately met, production quality is optimized, and lessons learned are systematically applied.
