AME Construction seeks a Welding Engineer to join our team in Malaysia. You will develop, review, and approve welding procedure specs, weld procedure qualifications, and welder qualifications, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO, and project requirements.
You will monitor welding activities for quality during fabrication and site erection, coordinate inspections and NDT, and investigate defects with root-cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

We're looking for a Welding Engineer to join our team.
Develop, review, and approve WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification records in compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO, and project requirements.
Ensure welding activities meet quality standards during fabrication and site erection.
Monitor weld preparation, welding parameters, consumable control, and post-weld requirements.
Coordinate welding inspections and NDT activities (VT, MT, PT, UT, RT).
Investigate welding defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain welding documentation, including weld maps, logs, qualification records, inspection reports, and quality dossiers.
Provide technical support and guidance to welders, supervisors, and QA/QC teams.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, QA/QC, Clients, and Third‑Party Inspectors to achieve project quality and schedule objectives.
Ensure calibration of welding and inspection equipment and compliance with QMS and HSE requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline.
1-5 years of experience in welding engineering, steel structure fabrication, and construction projects.
Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 15614, ISO 9606, and related welding standards.
AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.0 certification is an advantage.
Familiarity with welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW), NDT methods, welding metallurgy, and quality control.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation systems.
