We are looking for a Welding Engineer to manage welding-related activities from procedure development through fabrication and inspection. The successful candidate will ensure welding work meets project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements. The position will be involved in welding procedure qualification, welder certification, inspection, technical records, and troubleshooting of welding issues.
Prepare, review, and control welding procedures and qualification records.
Manage welding parameters, materials, consumables, and process requirements.
Monitor fabrication work to ensure welding is carried out according to approved procedures.
Arrange and oversee welder qualification and maintain relevant certification records.
Carry out visual examination of welds and assist with required inspection and NDT activities.
Prepare and maintain weld traceability documents, weld maps, inspection records, and related reports.
Identify welding non-conformities and work with the relevant teams on corrective actions.
Support improvements to welding methods, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and relevant certification authorities when required.
Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in welding, fabrication, or a related engineering role.
Valid AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
Practical knowledge of welding procedure and qualification requirements, including WPS, PQR, and WQT.
Familiarity with ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and project/customer welding requirements.
Experience with GTAW/TIG, orbital welding, and stainless-steel fabrication will be an advantage.
Able to understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
Knowledge of weld inspection methods and NDT requirements.
Good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
