Job summary

Dynac Engineering Sdn Bhd seeks a Welding QC Engineer to supervise welding activities on oil and gas projects. You will prepare WPS/PQR/WQT, witness PWHT, monitor NDE, and ensure compliance with ITPs and client requirements.

The role requires a Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering or Welding Technology, CSWIP 3.1, and at least four years of welding experience in oil and gas. You will coordinate inspections and uphold QMS standards.

Responsibilities

• Witness Welding Procedure Qualification Testing and Welder Qualification Testing as per Project Specification and Code.
• Witness and monitor Welding and NDT activities during fabrication on site.
• Coordinate inspection activities per ITP with client or authorised inspector.
• Carry out inspections per approved ITP; liaise with Client and Sub Contractor for QA tasks.
• Perform surveillance to ensure compliance with WPS, codes, standards and drawings.
• Verify field modifications and redline mark-ups.
• Control electrode storage and distribution for fabrication use.
• Monitor welder qualifications validity per project specifications and standards (AME, AWS, etc.).
• Monitor welder repair rate performance.
• Review radiographs and NDT reports including PWHT per ITPs.
• Ensure measuring equipment is approved and meets project requirements.
• Comply with QMS and company policy on all tasks.

Job description

1. To prepare and evaluate project WPS, PQR, WQT procedures and Weld Map for client submission and approval prior project fabrication for every project.

2. Witness Welding Procedure Qualification Testing and Welder Qualification Testing as per Project Specification and Code.

3. Witness and monitoring all Welding and NDT activities during fabrication performed on site.

4. To coordinate inspection activities as per ITP internally and externally with client/ or authorised inspector.

5. Carry out the inspections as per approved ITP liaise with Client and Sub Contractor for all related Quality and inspections.

6. Performs routine surveillance of assigned areas and disciplines to ensure with approved WPS and all applicable codes, standards, specifications and drawings.

7. To ensure the field modification of red line mark-ups verification and preparation.

8. Control and verification of electrode storage and distribution prior fabrication use.

9. To monitor, renew and update welder qualification validity comply to project specification, code and standard i.e : AME, AWS, etc.

10. To monitor performance of Welder repair rate.

11. Review radiograph films and all relevant NDT reports (including PWHT review as per applicable ITPs.

12. To ensure all measuring equipments used are approved by company and satisfy the requirements and project.

13. To comply and implement company policy as per QMS in every task/job.

14. Any other instruction by verbal or written from immediate Superior/Top Management.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering / Welding Technology or equivalent

2. At least 4 years experience of welding in context of oil and gas project.

3. Good knowledge in fabrication, NDE, drawing & QC activities.
