Job summary

UHP Gas Sys Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop and maintain welding procedures, qualifications and related documentation.

You will establish welding parameters for stainless-steel tubing and precision assemblies, and support TIG/GTAW and orbital welding activities. The role requires 2–3 years of welding engineering experience and an AWS CWI certification, with strong ability to read drawings and welding symbols.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, welding or related engineering.
• 2-3 years welding engineering or precision fabrication experience.
• AWS CWI certification mandatory.
• Ability to read drawings, welding symbols and specifications.
• Knowledge of ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and customer standards.

Job description

Develop and maintain welding procedures, qualifications, and related documentation.

Establish suitable welding parameters and processes for stainless-steel tubing and precision assemblies.

Support and monitor TIG/GTAW and orbital welding activities.

Conduct welder qualification and maintain relevant qualification records.

Perform visual weld inspections and support NDT, leak testing, and other quality inspections.

Maintain welding records, traceability, and inspection documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable welding standards, customer specifications, and UHP cleanliness requirements.

Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve welding quality and productivity.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Welding, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in welding engineering, inspection, or precision fabrication.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, qualifications, and documentation.
• Experience with TIG/GTAW welding and stainless-steel fabrication.
• Familiarity with orbital welding is preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and customer-specific standards.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT, and weld defect analysis is an advantage.
