Job summary

UHP Gas-Sys Technology is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer with AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification to oversee welding processes, ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, and support quality, inspection, and continuous improvement across fabrication operations.

The role focuses on developing welding procedures, supervising welding activities, and coordinating with customers and certification bodies to maintain high-quality fabrication outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant welding engineering or fabrication experience.
• Certification of AWS CWI is required for this role.
• Experience in orbital welding (GTAW/TIG) and stainless-steel fabrication is preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Understanding of welding inspection and NDT requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WPS, PQR, and WQT documentation.
• Select appropriate welding processes, consumables, and parameters.
• Supervise welding activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures.
• Conduct Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) and maintain qualification records.
• Perform visual weld inspections and support quality inspections.
• Maintain welding documentation, including weld maps and inspection reports.
• Investigate welding defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimize welding processes to improve quality and productivity.
• Coordinate with customers, inspectors, and certification bodies as required.
