Job summary

Zurich 56 Company Ltd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Web Developer to build our web applications serving customers across Asia Pacific. You will work with Next.js/ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3 and REST/JSON, implement unit tests with Jest, and participate in CI/CD workflows in AWS. Occasional travel may be required.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure secure, scalable code, and contribute to a modern digital platform that enables automated processing and robust user experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience with Next.js or ReactJS and state management.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript knowledge.
• Experience with REST/JSON and integrating backend services.
• Familiar with UI testing and CI/CD in AWS.
• Experience in security and financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements to design the web app.
• Develop and test UI components across browsers.
• Interface with back-end teams for integration.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity – join us as a Web Senior Developer to build our web applications, serving customers in the Asia Pacific Region.

Be a part of the Zurich Edge team that builds our end-to-end digital native insurance platform to enable new distribution models. Insurance offerings on this platform will be specifically designed for high levels of automation and straight through processing across the full insurance value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Have a deep understanding of business requirements, and how to best build the web application
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Vanilla JS
• Experience with Next.js or ReactJS, REST/JSON and state management
• Unit test (Jest), integration test and deployment into various environments
• Troubleshooting and defect analysis
• Interface with other teams for technical details to integrate the web with back-end services
• Build & unit test reusable UI components and functions
• Documentation of code
• Familiar with, or carry out, CI/CD processes in AWS (e.g. configuration management, daily automated build, unit test, etc.)
• Occasional travel may be required

Your skills and experience

• Experience in Next.js or ReactJS, state management and REST/JSON
• Extensive experience in HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
• Experience in application security and financial services and/or insurance highly regarded
• Experience with Jest, Jira, GitHub, Sonarqube is a plus
