Job summary

Zurich Insurance in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Web Senior Developer to build our web applications for the Asia Pacific region. You will work on our digital platform, focusing on automation and seamless customer experiences.

You will contribute to frontend architecture using Next.js or ReactJS, HTML5/CSS3, and REST/JSON, implement tests with Jest, and participate in CI/CD within AWS environments. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Next.js or ReactJS, state management and REST/JSON.
• Extensive experience in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Experience in application security and financial services and/or insurance highly regarded.
• Experience with Jest, Jira, GitHub, SonarQube is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and how to best build the web application.
• Develop front-end with HTML5/CSS3/JS and Next.js/ReactJS.
• Implement unit and integration tests; deploy in various environments.
• Interface with other teams to integrate web with back-end services.
• Build and unit test reusable UI components and functions.
• Document code and support CI/CD in AWS.
• Occasional travel may be required.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity - join us as a Web Senior Developer to build our web applications, serving customers in the Asia Pacific Region.

Be a part of the Zurich Edge team that builds our end-to-end digital native insurance platform to enable new distribution models. Insurance offerings on this platform will be specifically designed for high levels of automation and straight through processing across the full insurance value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Have a deep understanding of business requirements, and how to best build the web application
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Vanilla JS
• Experience with Next.js or ReactJS, REST/JSON and state management
• Unit test (Jest), integration test and deployment into various environments
• Troubleshooting and defect analysis
• Interface with other teams for technical details to integrate the web with back-end services
• Build & unit test reusable UI components and functions
• Documentation of code
• Familiar with, or carry out, CI/CD processes in AWS (e.g. configuration management, daily automated build, unit test, etc.)
• Occasional travel may be required

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in Next.js or ReactJS, state management and REST/JSON
• Extensive experience in HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
• Experience in application security and financial services and/or insurance highly regarded
• Experience with Jest, Jira, GitHub, Sonarqube is a plus
