Job summary

Zurich 56 Company Ltd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an API & Integration Senior Developer for the Asia Pacific region. In this role you’ll build and unit/integration test APIs and integrations as part of Zurich Edge Insurance Platform development.

Responsibilities include designing domain APIs, building microservices with REST/JSON, using Swagger and Postman, and integrating with AWS (S3, SQS). You’ll collaborate with internal/external teams, implement CI/CD and advocate agile/DevOps delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years programming experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, SQS).
• Strong REST/JSON API development skills.
• Familiarity with Swagger and Postman.
• Knowledge of design patterns and OO modelling.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity, working as our API & Integration Senior Developer within the Asia Pacific region. Within the role you’ll build and unit/integration testing of APIs and integration.

You will have a chance to be part of new project that will build a new end-to-end Zurich Edge Insurance Platform to enable new distribution models. Insurance offerings on this platform will be specifically designed for high levels of automation and straight through processing across the full insurance value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a deep understanding of business requirements and best ways to build integrations / APIs.
• Design of domain centric APIs
• Build and testing of integrations
• Build of Microservices APIs using REST/JSON
• Build of Microservices using Asynchronous Design Pattern
• Documentation of APIs using Swagger
• Integration trouble shooting & defect analysis
• CI/CD processes (eg configuration management, daily automated build, unit testing etc).
• Interfacing with other teams for technical details related to integration between systems (both internal & external)

Your skills and experience:

• 5+ years programming experience.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with Springboot Framework.
• Experience integrating with AWS Components eg: S3,SQS, etc.
• Experience with PostgreSql Database.
• Strong experience with API development using REST/JSON, Swagger & Postman
• Experience with SOAP, API First Design Approach, design patterns
• Experience with JIRA, Sonarqube.
• Experience with AI Tools: Github Copilot, Claude Code.
• Knowledge of object-oriented modelling.
• Sound understanding of IT project delivery and agile / DevOps methodologies

Skills:

• Experience with integration design patterns
• Passion for new and emerging technologies. Ability to investigate these in depth.
