Retained confidential search: an established multinational organisation is appointing an experienced VP / Chief Procurement Officer Asia, to lead and strengthen its regional procurement function.

Based in Selangor, Malaysia, this senior leadership mandate combines procurement transformation, commercial value creation and hands‑on execution across multiple Asian markets. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in logistics and transportation procurement, an understanding of complex distribution-driven operations, and a proven ability to translate strategy into measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional procurement strategy, driving cost optimisation, operational efficiency and procurement governance across Asian markets
• Lead strategic sourcing across key categories, particularly transportation, warehousing, property leasing, facilities, capital expenditure and outsourced services
• Drive high-value supplier negotiations, contract optimisation and performance management, maintaining hands‑on involvement in critical country-level sourcing decisions
• Lead procurement transformation through process standardisation, digitalisation, analytics and continuous improvement
• Build and develop high-performing regional and in‑market procurement teams, fostering strong collaboration with senior business and finance stakeholders

Key Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles with regional or multi-country responsibilities
• Strong expertise in logistics and transportation procurement, with proven experience negotiating major supplier contracts and delivering measurable cost savings
• Demonstrated experience managing diverse procurement categories within complex, multi-country operations; exposure to distribution-intensive businesses is highly relevant
• Proven track record in procurement transformation, strategic sourcing, supplier management and operational improvement
• Commercially astute, influential and hands‑on leader with strong negotiation, stakeholder management and team development capabilities
