The Veterinary Nurse provides nursing care and clinical support at an animal clinic, assisting veterinarians during consultations, treatments and surgeries, and ensuring high standards of patient care, hygiene and record-keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, treatments and surgeries
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalised patients
• Administer medications and treatments as instructed by veterinarians
• Monitor patients and report any changes in their condition
• Assist with patient feeding, medication and post-treatment care
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures
• Prepare and sterilise surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain clinical equipment and ensure it is clean and ready for use
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and infection control standards

About you

• Diploma in Animal Health and Production, Certificate in Veterinary Nursing, or relevant qualification
• SPM/STPM holders with relevant animal care experience may also be considered
