HP VET SDN BHD in Elmina, Selangor is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team on a full-time basis. You will work with veterinarians to provide essential technical support, assist in surgeries, prepare samples, and help manage patient care and client communication.

The ideal candidate holds a recognised Veterinary Technician qualification, has clinic experience, and demonstrates strong knowledge of animal anatomy, pharmacology, and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

HP VET SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team in Elmina, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our veterinary services and ensuring the highest standards of animal care and welfare. As a Veterinary Technician, you will work alongside our veterinarians to provide essential technical support, animal care, and clinical assistance that directly impacts the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care. This position is central to maintaining the quality of our veterinary practice and delivering excellent service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical examinations

Collecting and preparing patient samples for laboratory analysis, including blood work and diagnostic testing

Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian

Monitoring patient vital signs and recovery in the post-operative period

Maintaining and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment to ensure compliance with hygiene standards

Preparing treatment areas and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available

Providing basic animal restraint and handling to facilitate veterinary procedures

Recording accurate and detailed medical records and patient information

Educating pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment

Assisting with animal housing care and feeding protocols

What we're looking for

Recognised qualification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification from an accredited institution

Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar clinical setting

Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal anatomy, and pharmacology

Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and humanely

Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records

Sterile technique and ability to maintain hygiene and safety standards

Strong communication skills with both veterinarians and pet owners

Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift animals safely

Genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing compassionate care

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Reliability, punctuality, and professional demeanour

Preferred: Experience with specific animal types (companion animals, exotic pets, or large animals)
