Job summary

Acuvet Veterinary Clinic in George Town, Penang is seeking a dedicated assistant to support veterinarians during consultations and operations. You will prepare the operating theatre, maintain sterility, and provide nursing care, while also handling the front desk, scheduling appointments, and processing payments.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations and checks.
• Prepare operation theatre and sterilize instruments.
• Provide nursing care for animals.
• Maintain cleanliness of front desk and reception area.
• Manage calls, WhatsApp messages, and appointment scheduling.
• Process prescriptions and payments accurately.
• Liaise with laboratories for sample collection if needed.
• General clinic hygiene and stock management.
• Assist with animal restraint when necessary.

Acuvet Veterinary Clinic - George Town, Penang

• Assist the veterinarians during consultation and checking.
• Prepare operation theatre, clean and sterilize surgical equipments.
• Provide nursing care for the furry kids.
• Clean and maintain the pets (dogs and cats, sometimes tortoise) cage.
• Clean and maintain the hygiene of the practice in general.
• Storing supplies that arrive such as pet food and drugs ( requires heavy lifting)
• All levels and types of education or qualifications are accepted.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Must be comfortable working with animals like dogs and cats.
• Manage incoming calls and WhatsApp messages, and coordinate appointment scheduling.
• Accurately prepare prescribed medications and process client payments.
• Issue receipts and ensure correct payment amounts are received and recorded.
• Verify the accuracy of medications, products, and payment amounts.
• Liaise with laboratories for the timely collection of samples.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and reception area.
• Demonstrate comfort and professionalism when interacting with animals, as the owner may occasionally bring in pets to the front desk.
• Uphold high standards of clinic cleanliness and hygiene.
