Job summary

InterContinental Penang Resort in Penang, George Town is seeking a Restaurant Server to deliver warm, attentive service and guide guests through their dining journey. You will provide detailed menu recommendations, pair beverages, and ensure seamless table service that upholds high brand standards.

Responsibilities include welcoming guests, taking orders with the POS system, serving dishes promptly, coordinating with kitchen and bar teams, handling payments, and maintaining spotless service

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a server in upscale restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Understanding of food safety standards and wine/beverage service.
• Excellent verbal communication and polished appearance.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move light dining furniture.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, present menus, and answer questions regarding food preparation, ingredients, dietary restrictions, and beverage options.
• Accurately record food and beverage orders using the POS system, making thoughtful recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
• Serve dishes and beverages promptly and gracefully according to luxury dining standards; perform routine table maintenance and clearing.
• Coordinate closely with kitchen staff, bar teams, and hostesses to ensure smooth timing and dietary accuracy across all tables.
• Prepare accurate guest bills, handle cash/card payments efficiently, and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care.
• Maintain pristine cleanliness and organization across service stations, dining areas, and side stands before, during, and after service shifts.
