PolicyStreet is seeking an underwriting professional to manage Personal Lines underwriting, pricing, and product development for regional clients. You will work with insurers, reinsurers and partners to optimize risk and profitability while aligning with regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across our insurtech platform, with a focus on sustainable growth in the Malaysia market.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting Personal Lines is preferred.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements for Personal Lines products.
• Assess risks, pricing, coverage and insurer appetite for sustainable profitability.
• Collaborate with insurers, reinsurers and partners on underwriting arrangements and product development.
• Monitor portfolio performance and profitability, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Support underwriting initiatives ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
• Coordinate with Partnership Managers and internal teams to tailor insurance propositions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements across Personal Lines products.


• Assess and manage underwriting risks, pricing, coverage, policy terms, and insurer appetite to ensure sustainable and profitable products.


• Work closely with insurers, reinsurers, and partners on underwriting arrangements, negotiations, product development, and improvements.


• Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and underwriting profitability, identifying opportunities to improve performance.


• Collaborate with Partnership Managers and internal stakeholders to develop and enhance insurance propositions that meet market and partner needs.


• Support underwriting initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and market competitiveness.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:

• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly Personal Lines.


• Experience in insurance underwriting, product management, broking, or a related insurance function.


• Exposure to Travel Insurance, Extended Warranty, Mobile Insurance, and/or Personal Accident (PA) is an advantage.


• Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and make sound decisions.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.


• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
