Design isn't a step in our process. It's how the product gets built.
We're looking for someone who won't wait for requirements. You'll help write them.
Over 1.5 million customers use EasyParcel to send parcels. Every extra click, confusing label, or unclear price costs them time — and costs us bookings. Your job is to find those moments and fix them.
This role is equal parts product manager, designer, researcher, and writer. You'll also guide a designer and an intern along the way.
What You'll Own
- Frame the problem before proposing the fix: Find where merchants get stuck, and decide what's worth solving first.
- Make the case with evidence, not opinion: Clearly define the problem, the solution, and the metric you expect to move.
- Design journeys, not screens: Define user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and final UI across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Hand off cleanly, then stay with it: Brief the developers, answer their questions, and see the product through to shipment.
- Talk to merchants yourself: Conduct interviews and usability sessions, turning what you hear into actionable decisions rather than just notes.
- Prove whether it worked: Set up your own tracking (GTM, GA4, Hotjar), run A/B tests, and share the results—Even when the answer is a "no."
- Build systems, not one-offs: Grow our design system so the next feature is faster to build than the last.
- Write like a human: Craft UI copy, error messages, and feature announcements in plain, on-brand language (English and Bahasa Malaysia).
- Catch bugs before customers do: Conduct UAT, content/translation reviews, and usability checks before release.
- Know the market: Benchmark competitors to identify valuable feature gaps.
- Use AI as a force multiplier: Leverage Claude and similar tools for research synthesis, drafting, prototyping, and analysis—while exercising the judgment to know when the output cannot be trusted.
- Influence without authority: Align product, tech, business, and marketing teams. Present findings clearly to non-designers.
- Elevate the team: Guide the designer and intern, and keep the team's roadmap highly visible.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 1–3 years in product management, product design, UX, or a hybrid role—ideally working on a commercial product (e-commerce, logistics, SaaS, fintech).
- Track Record: At least one feature you took from initial idea to launch, with the ability to share the performance data and outcomes that followed.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Interaction Design, HCI, Multimedia, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (a strong portfolio from a different background is also welcome).
- Execution: You design rather than just specify. You have a solid UI design background with real, shipped screens to prove it.
- Figma Expertise: Strong Figma skills, including components, variables, auto-layout, and responsive frames (this is non-negotiable).
- Data Fluency: Comfort with GA4, GTM, Hotjar, and spreadsheets—enough to set up your own tracking rather than just reading pre-made reports.
- Research Skills: Hands-on experience with user research or testing (informal user calls count).
- Copywriting Instincts: Clear writing skills with a natural instinct for UX copy that respects brand guidelines.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent English; fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese is a strong plus for localized content reviews.
- Design Systems: Hands-on experience building or maintaining a scalable design system.
- Growth Mindset: A strong understanding of what drives conversion rates, where users drop off, and how to optimize those flows.
- AI Literacy: Real fluency with AI tools, especially Claude.
- Mentorship: Comfort reviewing others' work and helping them develop their skills.
