Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering operational training programs for new and existing production employees, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. This role involves designing training materials, conducting training sessions, and assessing Line Trainer performance to support continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the Trainer oversees the coordination and planning of tasks for line trainers and follows up on their progress related to operational training.
Training Program Development: Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires, line trainers and operational staff.
Coordination and Oversight: Oversee the coordination and planning of tasks for line trainers, ensuring all training activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Progress Monitoring: Follow up on the progress of line trainers and their trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure successful training outcomes.
Conduct Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions for new hires, including onboarding and job-specific training, as well as ongoing training (e.g., additional, cross-training & retraining) and recertification for production personnel.
Performance Assessment: Assess trainees and Line Trainers performance through tests and observations, providing constructive feedback to improve their skills.
Record Maintenance: Maintain records of training activities, including attendance, assessment results, and training completion.
Compliance: Ensure all training programs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve training programs based on feedback and changing industry requirements.
Training Materials Development: Develop and update training materials and visual aids for the manufacturing line.
Level Grading Exercise: Conduct level grading exercises for employees.
Reporting: Prepare weekly progress reports on operational training activities.
Culture Promotion: Promote participation in zero defect culture and improvement idea programs.
Mentorship: Provide mentorship and coaching to line trainers, fostering their professional growth and development.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to develop clear and concise training materials.
Familiarity with basic training software and tools.
Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations
Ability to lead and motivate a team of trainers.
Strong problem-solving skills to address training challenges and ensure effective learning.
A diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Education, Human Resources) is preferred.
Proven experience as a production trainer, or as a leader, or instructor in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in coordinating and overseeing training programs is highly desirable.
