Job summary

HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager in Trade Middle Office to provide comprehensive support to the Trade Operations team. You will manage processing, administration, and customer liaison, ensuring service levels are met with a proactive, quality-driven approach.

You will lead a team of checkers, cascade changes, and drive improvements in trade finance processes, including LCs, amendments, and trade loans. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of ICC Publications rules (UCP/ISBP/ ICC OPINIONS / URR/ URC).
• Strong knowledge of International Trade and full Trade Cycles.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Export bills under DC document checking.
• Handle end-to-end processing and checking of trade finance transactions, including Import and Export Letters of Credit, amendments, import/export bills & trade loans.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with emphasis on influencing and negotiating with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of support to the Trade Operations team as required, including processing, administration, customer service and liaison with various parties.
• Deliver a high quality service to internal and external customers; taking ownership and using initiative to complete tasks within SLA.
• Lead a highly motivated and skilled team, allocating work and resources to meet objectives and strategy of the Bank.
• Cascade procedural changes to ensure compliance with agreed procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement through best practice sharing; mentor new joiners as required.
• Prepare presentational materials (PDFs, PowerPoint, Agendas, Minutes, etc.).
