To develop and maintain strong business relationships with tour agencies, tour operators, travel companies, tour guides, bus companies and other tourism partners to encourage tourist groups and passengers to visit the company's retail outlet. The role is responsible for identifying new tourism partners, negotiating group visit arrangements, coordinating visits, and developing partnerships that increase tourist traffic, retail sales, and customer volume.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and approach tour agencies, tour operators, and travel companies; build and maintain good relationships with tour agents, tour guides, and group leaders
- Introduce the company's retail shop, products, and group-visit benefits to tourism partners; negotiate and establish mutually beneficial arrangements
- Maintain a database of tour agencies, tour guides, and tourism contacts; maintain regular communication and follow-up with existing agency partners
- Develop relationships with tourist bus companies and transport operators; coordinate with bus operators regarding tourist group schedules and shop visits
- Proactively source and secure new tourist groups visiting Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and surrounding areas; work with tour guides and tour leaders to arrange visits
- Develop suitable incentives, commissions, rebates or group benefits for tour agencies and guides; propose promotional packages specifically for tourist groups
- Coordinate with the retail shop, operations, and sales teams before the arrival of tourist groups; ensure adequate stock and staff are available for large groups
- Regularly visit and meet tour agencies, tour guides and bus operators; attend tourism-related networking events, exhibitions and industry activities
- Develop strategies to increase tourist sales and average spending per visitor; identify opportunities for group packages, souvenir bundles and promotional offers
- Maintain records of agency accounts and tourist group visits; prepare weekly and monthly reports on tour groups secured, tourists brought to the shop, sales generated, active partnerships, new accounts acquired, and repeat group visits
About you
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality, Sales or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in tourism, travel agencies, hospitality, sales, business development, retail partnership or FMCG sales
- Experience dealing with tour agencies, tour guides, or tourist groups is an advantage
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Able to build and maintain relationships with external partners
- Good follow-up and coordination skills
- Willing to travel and meet external clients and partners
- Able to work independently and actively look for new business
- Able to work flexible hours when required, including weekends and public holidays
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages would be an advantage
