Job summary

Randstad Malaysia seeks an Application Process Engineer to optimize semiconductor processes, run customer samplings, and provide critical support for tier-1 clients regionally. Based in Penang, you will design experiments, analyze data, and work with R&D to refine thin-film hardware.

Requirements include a Master’s in Physics or Electrical Engineering, 3+ years in semiconductor equipment, and strong Minitab/MS Office skills. English fluency and travel across Asia/Europe are expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 3+ years in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or foundry process environments.
• Hands-on experience with Thin Film Technology (PVD/PECVD/plasma) and metrology equipment.
• Proficient in Minitab and MS Office; scripting in Python or VB is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and able to travel across Asia and Europe for training/tech transfers.

Responsibilities

• Design experiments, collect data, and characterize hardware on thin-film deposition and plasma systems.
• Run client-specific sampling trials and support transferring processes to customer fabs.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis to solve moderately complex process and equipment failures using data tools.
• Measure thin-film properties, interpret data, and collaborate with R&D to refine next-gen system hardware.
