Job summary

Qualifications

The Role

We are seeking an analytical, resourceful Process Engineer to join the engineering team in Penang. In this role, you will be directly involved in optimizing manufacturing capability, driving process improvement initiatives, conducting root-cause failure analyses, and implementing cost-effective production methods.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Evaluation: Study, test, and evaluate new manufacturing methods and materials to continuously elevate process capabilities and yield.

Design of Experiments (DOE): Plan and execute DOEs to establish key process parameters and optimize product characteristics.

Technical Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate and determine root causes for process-related sample rejections or quality defects, implementing robust corrective actions.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Assist production teams in setting up machine operating procedures, process parameters, and safety guidelines.

Cost Optimization: Explore and evaluate opportunities to reduce standard material usage or source lower-cost, high-quality material alternatives.

New Process Implementation: Lead the seamless rollout and validation of new manufacturing processes on the production line.

Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering. (Fresh Graduates are welcome, as full training will be provided; Diploma holders with 2-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience are also encouraged to apply.)

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a structured, data-driven approach to technical problem-solving.

Personal Attributes: Independent, creative, highly resourceful, and capable of performing effectively under high-pressure manufacturing deadlines.

Communication: Strong technical report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is an added advantage to facilitate effective communication with Mandarin-speaking equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders.
