Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Packaging/Manufacturing Engineer to lead thermoforming process design, NPI, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will optimize shop floor layouts, implement automation, and drive quality and safety standards across the plant in Penang-based operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Packaging/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing engineering with at least 3 years in plastic thermoforming, and strong skills in JIT, value stream mapping, and ISO

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing engineering.
Minimum 3 years in plastic thermoforming manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of thermoforming controls, JIT production, value stream mapping.
Familiar with ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO13485 and local safety guidelines.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Process Design & NPI: Identify needs for new product introductions and design cost-effective processes.
Thermoforming optimization: Drive process control, reduce waste, and improve OEE.
Shop floor & automation: Design workcells, layouts, and implement automation to boost efficiency.
Equipment maintenance & safety: Manage start-up/shut-down, preventive maintenance, downtime minimization.
Continuous improvement & quality: Lead projects with Poka-Yoke, Gage R&R, standard work, root cause analysis.
Standards & compliance: Ensure ISO 9001/14001/13485 and safety/environmental guidelines.
