Job summary

Maxwell Aluminium Engineering Sdn Bhd invites applications for a Quantity Surveyor to support tendering and project cost control. You will take-off quantities, prepare cost estimates, and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for quotes, while verifying progress claims and variation orders.

The role also involves preparing final accounts, updating project reports, attending site visits, and maintaining rigorous filing and document control. Mandarin ability is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (aluminium and glass industry an advantage).
• Able to read construction drawings and prepare cost estimates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Take-off quantities for tender drawings for tender purposes.
• Assist in tender costing and tender analysis.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations for tender and project purposes.
• Check and verify progress claims and variation orders.
• Prepare claims and payment certificates.
• Prepare final account reports for completed projects.
• Update monthly reports for each project.
• Attend site visits and site meetings as required by management.
• Ensure proper filing and document control for documents such as correspondence and claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned by superior and management.
