Job summary

Acre Works Sdn Bhd seeks a Temporary Works Coordinator to plan, coordinate and supervise all Temporary Works for the PLRT project in Malaysia. You will ensure compliance with approved designs, method statements and BS 5975, while coordinating permits and inspections.

Lead engineers and site teams, manage documentation, and maintain quality, safety, and efficiency on site. Willingness to base at project site and work extended hours is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or diploma in engineering or related field.
• Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
• Extensive experience in design and/or construction of Temporary Works.
• Knowledge of BS 5975 and Temporary Works management.
• Familiar with ISO 9001/45001/14001 requirements.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and project scheduling tools (MS Project/Primavera).
• Willing to be based at a project site and work extended hours.

Job description

The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all Temporary Works for the PLRT project, ensuring safe and efficient execution in accordance with approved designs, method statements, project requirements, and BS 5975. The TWC will coordinate Permit to Load/Unload, independent checking of major Temporary Works, maintain the Temporary Works Register, and work closely with technical, engineering, safety, QA/QC, consultants, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and supervise all Temporary Works activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and BS 5975.

Manage Temporary Works including pile caps, piers, hammerheads, portals, T-shapes, pier caps, formwork, lifting frames, and other related structures.

Coordinate Permit to Load/Unload and independent checking of major Temporary Works with the Technical Manager, PE, CICE, consultants, and relevant parties.

Establish, maintain, and update the Temporary Works Register and ensure proper project documentation.

Coordinate with engineering, design, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and safety teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Monitor site progress, work sequencing, manpower, machinery, materials, quality, and productivity, and take corrective action when required.

Conduct site inspections and ensure Temporary Works meet quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Review method statements, work permits, drawings, and Temporary Works proposals before execution.

Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical and site issues.

Support cost control, subcontractor progress verification, variation matters, and prevention of wastage and rework.

Lead and guide engineers, supervisors, and site personnel involved in Temporary Works activities.

Identify improvements in construction methods, safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience in the design and/or construction of Temporary Works.

Proven experience in medium to large-scale infrastructure, civil, or structural projects.

Strong knowledge of Temporary Works, construction methods, site coordination, and project requirements.

Knowledge of BS 5975 and Temporary Works management will be an advantage.

Familiar with local construction regulations and ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera.

Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Willing to be based at the project site and work extended hours when required.
