Job summary

A1 A.K. Koh Group Malaysia is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to ensure smooth WWTP operations, meet DOE standards, and prepare accurate reports.

You will coordinate with the Production, QC, Maintenance and Safety teams to maintain regulatory compliance. Based in Kulai, Johor, the role requires a Diploma in Environmental Engineering or related field, 1–2 years of WWTP experience, and familiarity with equipment operation and lab testing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of wastewater treatment plant operations experience.
• Familiar with operation and maintenance of WWTP equipment and lab testing procedures.
• Knowledge of DOE regulations is beneficial.
• CePIETSO-PCP/BP certification preferred with hands-on maintenance experience.
• CePSWaM certificate is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
• Meet DOE standards and liaise with DOE for compliance matters.
• Prepare reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise sludge handling and wastewater management.
• Manage chemical storage, usage, and stock records.
• Identify and troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment per safety standards.
• Coordinate daily activities with Production, QC, Maintenance, and Safety teams.
• Handle any ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.

Education

Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Water Technology, or related field

1-2 years of relevant WWTP experience

Familiar with WWTP equipment operation and laboratory testing

DOE regulations knowledge (added advantage)

CePIETSO-PCP/BP certification (preferred)

CePSWaM Certificate (added advantage)

Ability to work independently

Requirement

• 1. Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Water Technology, or related field OR
• 2. 1-2 years of relevant working experience in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operations.
• 3. Familiar with the operation and maintenance of WWTP equipment, as well as laboratory testing procedures.
• 4. Knowledge of the Department of Environment (DOE) regulations is an added advantage.
• 5. Certified Competent Person (CePIETSO-PCP/BP) preferred, with strong technical capabilities and hands-on experience in maintaining wastewater treatment system.
