Job summary

CS SYNNOVATE SERVICE SDN BHD seeks a wastewater treatment operator to monitor and control plant equipment, perform rounds, collect samples, and ensure optimal performance.

Requires a diploma/technical qualification in environmental/chemical/mechanical engineering with 1–3 years of plant experience preferred; CePIETSO is a plus. Training is provided for applicants with no experience; shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate, or Technical qualification in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating a wastewater treatment plant is preferred.
• Knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical wastewater treatment processes.
• Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (CePIETSO) certification is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and wastewater discharge standards.
• Basic understanding of laboratory testing and water quality analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control wastewater treatment plant equipment across all unit processes and operations.
• Conduct regular plant rounds and inspections; observe process conditions and record data.
• Control key process parameters (pH, DO, COD, BOD, TSS, SV30, turbidity, flow rates, etc.).
• Collect wastewater samples and perform or support laboratory testing and quality analysis.
• Identify process or equipment issues; troubleshoot and coordinate with maintenance.
• Maintain accurate logs of data, test results, inspections, and regulatory records.
• Perform other related duties as assigned; training provided for newcomers.

• System Operations: Operate, monitor, and control IETS/wastewater treatment plant equipment across all unit processes and operations to ensure optimal performance.
• Routine Inspections: Conduct regular plant rounds and inspections to observe process conditions, record operating data, and identify operational abnormalities.
• Parameter Monitoring: Control key process parameters (including pH, DO, COD, BOD, TSS, SV30, turbidity, flow rates, and microscopic monitoring) to maintain treatment efficiency.
• Water Sampling & Testing: Collect wastewater samples and conduct/support laboratory testing and water quality analysis following established procedures.
• Troubleshooting: Identify process or equipment issues, troubleshoot basic failures, and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure plant reliability and availability.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of operational data, laboratory test results, inspection reports, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance records.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by management or the immediate supervisor.
• Candidate with no experience is encourage to apply- training will be provided
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
