We are seeking a dedicated and hands‑on Technician - Traffic Control & Surveillance System (TCSS) to support the maintenance, operation, and improvement of TCSS assets and equipment to ensure reliable highway operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance activities, contractor supervision, defect management, and compliance with QESH and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of TCSS equipment and systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair faults affecting TCSS operations.
- Monitor and supervise maintenance, enhancement, and improvement works carried out by contractors.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and emergency situations, including standby duties when required.
- Prepare maintenance reports and monitor defects through the Expressway Performance Indicator (EPI) System.
- Manage spare parts inventory and support procurement activities, including preparation of Requisition Forms (RF).
- Assist in annual maintenance budgeting, improvement works, and CAPEX planning.
- Liaise with contractors, authorities, and third parties on maintenance-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with QESH requirements, Environmental Quality Act, and Occupational Safety & Health regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and contractors.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of Traffic Control & Surveillance Systems (TCSS) or related electronic systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, single-line drawings, and electronic circuitry.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Able to work independently, under pressure, and outside normal working hours when required.
- Experience in highway‑related systems and maintenance environments will be an added advantage.
