We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Technician to join our facilities management team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and ensuring the optimal operation of our building systems and infrastructure. As a Building Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of building facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for all occupants. This role is essential to our operations and directly contributes to the safety, functionality, and longevity of our properties.
Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment
Responding promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from building occupants and addressing issues in a timely and professional manner
Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions and determining appropriate repair or replacement strategies
Conducting emergency repairs and providing on-call support when necessary to minimise disruptions and ensure safety
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing in accordance with building management standards
Collaborating with contractors and external service providers to coordinate specialised maintenance and repairs
Adhering to all health, safety, and building codes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Performing general building upkeep tasks, including minor repairs, replacements of fixtures, and facility improvements
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment and ensuring proper storage and handling of tools and materials
Relevant qualification or certification in building maintenance, mechanical engineering, electrical technology, or a related discipline
Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role within the property or real estate sector
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
Competency in using a range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with occupants, contractors, and management
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple maintenance requests simultaneously
A commitment to health and safety practices and adherence to building codes and regulations
Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces
Flexibility to respond to emergency situations and provide on-call support when needed
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation (desirable)
