Job summary

Coherent in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to monitor and operate complex facility systems, perform routine maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and record data per safety rules and work instructions.

Ideal candidates hold a technical Certificate/Diploma, have 1–3 years of maintenance experience, and possess good computer skills. You will coordinate with vendors, support audits, and contribute to a safe, efficient plant.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, pumps, compressors, and utilities.
• 1–3 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Proficient MS Excel/Word and maintenance systems.
• Willing to work on shifts, standby, or on-call.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and maintain facility systems and equipment.
• Perform routine checks and record operating data.

Job description

You will be responsible for monitoring and operating facility systems, performing basic maintenance work, responding to breakdowns and issues, carrying out routine checks and recording data, following safety rules and work instructions, and reporting any problems or abnormalities to the supervisor.

Job Responsible:

• Responsible for routine inspection, operation, and maintenance of facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, CDA, chilled water, fire protection, and cleanroom systems.
• Responsible for attending to daily facilities issues, breakdowns, and corrective maintenance works.
• Responsible for monitoring facility system performance and recording operating parameters.
• Responsible for executing preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to schedule.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying equipment and facility system failures.
• Responsible for supporting emergency response for facilities system failures.
• Responsible for supervising and coordinating with external vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair works.
• Responsible for ensuring contractor works comply with site safety rules and permit-to-work requirements.
• Responsible for complying with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.
• Responsible for supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Responsible for maintaining good teamwork, communication, and a responsible attitude.

Job Requirement:

• Certificate / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of facility systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, pumps, compressors, and utilities.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in facilities maintenance.
