Job summary

Coherent Corp. Malaysia, Ipoh site, seeks an experienced equipment and maintenance lead for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens and testers. You will head a technicians team, drive cost reduction, and oversee new equipment set-up and buy-off.

You will liaise with vendors to improve tool capability, provide feedback on equipment and materials, and ensure new products meet requirements. The role emphasizes yield, UPH improvements and ISO compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering – Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical, Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.
  • Relevant working experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
  • Familiar with product development process & proven success of releasing products to production.
  • Understand basic test methodologies and able to interpret/read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working with fiber-optic/laser products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and improvements for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, testers, etc.
  • Responsible to lead a group of technicians.
  • Identify, lead and implement cost reduction activities.
  • Responsible in preparing & perform new equipment set-up and buy-off.
  • Ensure proper facilities are available for new equipment set-up.
  • Liaise with equipment vendor to improve tool capability.
  • Provide feedback on equipment and material issues/make recommendations and offer solutions to ensure new products meet requirements.
  • Work with process engineers in preparing and updating process documentations and work instructions for assembly line process and equipment.
  • Work with production team in improving yield & UPH of the assigned processes, including cost reduction activities.
  • Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc
  • Derive Continual Improvement
  • Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task
  • Direct operations involvement and hands on skills on equipment's.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering – Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.

  • Familiar with product development process & proven success of releasing products to production.
