Job summary

Coherent in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a skilled Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical engineer to manage frontline equipment uptime and maintenance activities in a high-mix manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with in-house automation and process engineering teams to release new equipment, optimize yield, and maintain ISO-compliant maintenance records while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or equivalent.
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
• Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing.
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with hands-on attitude.
• Adaptable to rapid changes in business needs.
• Knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing; poka-yoke is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for spare parts tracking, replenishment, update.
• Work closely with in-house automation team on new equipment release for buy off, installation.

• Emphasize safety first attitude to ensure zero accidents occur.
• Maintain maintenance records per ISO requirements.
• Achieve KPI set by section manager.
• Pass down unfinished tasks to incoming shift to avoid duplication of effort.

Requirements
