Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics Malaysia is seeking a facilities maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related systems at our Selangor site.

The role requires a Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical and at least 2 years hands-on experience, plus ability to diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and supervise contractors as needed. We offer a 5-day work week and a conducive working environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical field or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs of building systems
• Willingness to take initiative and prioritize safety

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to facility equipment and systems, including faults, leaks or malfunctions.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan and minimize breakdowns.
• Handle minor repairs to building structure (doors, windows, flooring, walls).
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools; order replacements as necessary.
• Respond to facility emergencies promptly, e.g., power outages or water leaks.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Provide technical guidance and supervise contractors on maintenance projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to facility equipment and systems, including identifying and repairing faults, leaks, or malfunctions.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize unexpected breakdowns.
• Handle minor repairs and maintenance of the building's structure, including doors, windows, flooring, and walls.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for facility maintenance and order replacements as necessary.
• Respond to facility emergencies promptly and effectively, such as power outages, water leaks, or heating/cooling system failures.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other facility staff and supervise contractors working on maintenance/facility projects.

Job Requirements

• Possesses Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical field or any equivalent vocational or technical institutions.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical system.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic and repair equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshooting of building systems and equipment.
• Skilled in tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and electrical work.
• A highly motivated individual who is willing to take initiatives and high concern on safety.
• Effective organizational skills to manage tasks, prioritize work orders, and meet maintenance schedules.
