Job summary

Samsung SDI Energy Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Negeri Sembilan seeks a motivated Diploma holder to join our battery production team. You will support cross-functional areas from production to maintenance, following SOPs and safety standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Fresh graduates and experienced candidates are welcome. You will read technical drawings, operate basic production equipment, and contribute to quality checks, lean processes, and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or any technical field.
• Fresh Graduates with zero experience and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
• Prior experience in manufacturing/production is an advantage.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of safety practices, 5S, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Proficient in the use of production equipment, tools, and basic maintenance techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills to report on production progress.

Responsibilities

• Operates high-speed automated machinery across the battery line.
• Assists engineers in optimization trials and monitors Machine Vision cameras for defects.
• Performs diagnostics and quality checks on cells across OCV, resistance, and aging cycles.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Monitors and maintains facility infrastructure including HVAC and dry rooms when needed.
• Ensures compliance with cleanroom protocols, hazardous material handling, and safety standards.

Job description

Production: Operates high-speed automated machinery across the battery line, from mixing chemical slurries and precision foil coating to cell stacking, laser tab welding, and electrolyte injection.

Process Engineering & Vision: Assists engineers in running optimization trials and maintains automated optical inspection (Machine Vision) cameras to catch microscopic surface defects or coating misalignments.

Quality Technician: Conducts physical, mechanical, and electrical diagnostics on cells, including open-circuit voltage (OCV), internal resistance, helium leak testing, and monitoring the critical formation and aging cycles.

Maintenance: Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, calibrations, and emergency troubleshooting on high-precision production machinery like laser welders, slitting knives, and automated assembly fixtures.

Utility Operations: Monitors, operates, and maintains facility infrastructure critical to battery chemistry, including high-capacity industrial dry rooms (ultra-low dew point air systems), specialized HVAC, chilled water systems, and compressed dry air (CDA) plants.

Safety & Environment: Enforces strict compliance with cleanroom protocols, environmental regulations, and hazardous material safety standards when handling active chemicals, volatile solvents, and high-voltage packs.
