Job summary

Samsung SDI Malaysia is seeking a production process engineer to monitor and control daily manufacturing of lithium-ion battery cells. The role requires strong engineering background and familiarity with battery tech.

You will analyze data, troubleshoot issues with maintenance, and develop SOPs while ensuring safety and quality. Collaboration with R&D and Quality teams and driving Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of battery fundamentals, including lithium-ion chemistry, cell design, and performance metrics.
Familiarity with electrode fabrication, cell assembly, and battery pack assembly.
Proficiency in CAD, MATLAB, and Excel for design and analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting project timelines.
Prior internship or co-op in battery manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control daily production processes to ensure output meets specifications.
Analyze production data and identify areas for process improvements.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with maintenance to minimize downtime.
Develop and implement SOPs for production lines.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to improve product performance and reduce defects.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
