• Excellent attention to detail when recording data and metrics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; adherence to safety regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts if required.
• Experience with production planning software or MES is preferred.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Technician to join IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd at our facility in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production processes and maintaining the highest standards of quality in our manufacturing operations. As a Production Technician, you will be instrumental in supporting our production planning and scheduling objectives, helping to optimise workflow, minimise downtime, and contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing facility.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and monitoring production equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and adherence to production schedules
• Conducting routine maintenance checks on equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
• Following work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality protocols to maintain consistent product standards
• Recording production data, machine parameters, and production metrics accurately and in a timely manner
• Assisting in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and liaising with maintenance teams when technical issues arise
• Supporting inventory management and material handling activities to ensure production continuity
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Collaborating with production planning and scheduling teams to meet production targets and deadlines
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and reducing waste
• Participating in training programmes and safety drills as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Production Technician or in a similar manufacturing role within the electronics or related industry
• Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling principles, and manufacturing operations
• Proficiency in operating industrial machinery and equipment with demonstrated ability to follow technical instructions
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and ability to maintain product quality standards
• Competency in basic troubleshooting and problem-solving within a production environment
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when recording production data and metrics
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors
• Commitment to health and safety practices and ability to adhere to workplace safety regulations
• Ability to work flexibly, including shift work if required by operational needs
• Relevant technical certification or vocational qualification in electronics, mechanical engineering, or production technology is advantageous
• Experience with production planning software or manufacturing execution systems is preferred
