Job summary

Copeland in Malaysia seeks an experienced HVACR engineer to advance product design and support customers across the sales cycle. The role requires deep compressor knowledge, system design skills, and strong English communication. Employment is full-time, with engagement through Pebl as EOR/PEO, and site-based work in Malaysia.

You will lead technical demonstrations, tailor solutions, and stay current with industry trends while collaborating with global teams and regional customers.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering; minimum five years HVAC/R system development experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of compressors (variable & fixed speed) and system design.
• Experience with oil-free compressors and system development.
• Strong written and spoken English; good communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and general IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain proficiency in Copeland products and services.
• Provide technical support during specification and design.
• Support lab tests at third party and Copeland labs.
• Assist in selecting Copeland products per customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain proficiency in all Copeland products and services, particularly system design and operation.
• Provide technical support during the specification and design process.
• Provide support and take ownership on customer product lab test in third party test lab as well as Copeland test lab.
• Assist in selecting the appropriate Copeland product for the customer based on requirements and objectives.
• Conduct product demonstrations when required and answer any technical sales questions during the sales process.
• Organize training material and conduct technical seminars on product application and installation.
• Provide ongoing technical support throughout the product lifecycle when necessary, and respond to technical inquiries in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulation, and new technologies in the HVACR sector.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVACR systems with Copeland product, visit sites as required to review systems and diagnose problems.
• Provide tangible application and commissioning supports, state-of-the-art solutions to the customers using Copeland Oil Free Centrifugal compressor, Copeland Variable Speed and integration solution products.
• Communicate and share knowledge / experiences internally.
• Identify and support any opportunities for upsell, cross-sell and land new customers.
• Provide support to customers outside of Malaysia and Singapore as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• University degree, or equivalent in Engineering, minimum five (5) years air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry system development experience.
• Excellent hands-on technical knowledge of compressors including variable & fixed speed, system design, electrical systems including inverter driver, controllers and trouble shooting.
• Knowledge in oil free compressors and system development.
• Good written and oral English skills.
• Solid computer skills including MS Office, Internet software, E-mail, Windows.
• Excellent spreadsheet knowledge required.
• Excellent planning, organizing and prioritizing skills.
• Attention to detail and an eye for errors.
• Able to communicate with all levels within the organization.
• Able to learn and work independently, whilst still working as an integral part of the team.
• Legal authorization to work in the country of employment (Malaysia) – sponsorship will not be provided.

This position will be employed through Pebl, Copeland’s Employer of Record (EOR) / Professional Employer Organization (PEO) partner in Malaysia, while working full-time and exclusively for Copeland.
