Job summary

Torto Food Industries (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified professional to oversee commissioning of new machinery and production lines, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and product development. The role includes R&D support, packaging studies, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Candidate should have a degree in Food Science/Technology or microbiology, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and be organized with a performance-driven

Responsibilities

• Commission new machinery and production lines with close follow-up and timely reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvement and product development.
• Support R&D activities, including new product development and formulation improvements.
• Conduct packaging alignment and fitting studies.
• Report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-spec product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to R&D Manager.

Job description

Ensure proper commissioning of new machinery and production lines through close follow-up, coordination, and timely reporting

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvement initiatives and product development projects

Support R&D activities, including new product development, formulation improvements, and supervision of production trials

Conduct packaging alignment and fitting studies

Evaluate alternative packaging materials and suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising product quality and protection

Plan, coordinate, and oversee production trial runs to ensure machinery compatibility and smooth operational efficiency

Support compliance with food safety standards such as FSSC, GMP, HACCP, and other relevant regulations by maintaining accurate documentation and records

Maintain accurate project documentation and records, and assist in the preparation of final project reports

Support continuous improvement in product development, ensuring quality and food safety standards are met

Report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to R&D Manager

Requirements:

Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or equivalent
