PLM Interiors Sdn Bhd is seeking a Technical & Planning Manager to lead detailed construction planning and technical submissions for tender and project delivery. You will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure timely, compliant documentation and robust schedules.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 10 years in construction, with strong MS Projects skills, buildability knowledge, and leadership experience.
The Technical & Planning Manager will be responsible for preparing detailed technical proposals at tender stage, managing and overseeing all technical submissions including construction drawings, shop drawings and as-built drawings, technical planning proposals, construction method statements, and materials sample submissions. The Technical & Planning Manager will also be responsible for working in collaboration with internal project teams to conduct and prepare project delay assessments. The role requires close coordination with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure all technical documentation is complete, compliant, and submitted on time.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and or oversee the preparation of detailed construction project work schedules using MS Projects planning software.
Coordinate with project teams to gather input and ensure the accuracy of project timelines and milestones.
Assess, prepare and oversee the preparation of project delay assessment and extension of time applications.
Prepare technical proposals at tender stage
Support project teams with preparation of technical planning submissions, including construction method statements, shop drawings, as-built drawings and material samples.
Support project teams with preparing and managing authority submissions as necessary
In collaboration with internal project teams, liaise with consultants, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain approvals and resolve technical queries and issues.
Monitor the progress and status of technical submissions and schedules.
Participate in project coordination meetings and provide input on technical and scheduling matters.
Manage and lead a team comprising draughtpersons and technical and planning executives
About you
Strong personal integrity and work ethics.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of working experience in the construction industry.
Experience with construction planning, works scheduling, risk assessment and knowledgeable with local statutory and regulatory requirements, laws and bye-laws.
Advance level proficiency in MS Projects scheduling tools
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and buildability.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in managing a team
Able to collaborate effectively and harmoniously with diverse people and stakeholders.
