Job description

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join Goodwill Square (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Tanjung Malim, Perak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing, transport and logistics operations. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and motivating a team of staff, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining safety standards, and driving productivity across your designated area. This role is integral to achieving our operational goals and maintaining the high standards our clients expect from us.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising and managing a team of operatives, ensuring they adhere to company policies, procedures and safety standards
• Planning and organising daily work activities, allocating tasks and resources to meet production or logistics targets
• Monitoring team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
• Conducting induction and on-the-job training for new team members, and providing ongoing development opportunities
• Maintaining accurate records of production output, attendance, incidents and other operational metrics
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness amongst the team
• Communicating effectively with senior management regarding team performance, challenges and recommendations
• Identifying and addressing performance issues promptly, conducting disciplinary discussions where necessary
• Fostering a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, motivation and continuous improvement
• Supporting the resolution of operational challenges and escalating complex issues to management

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Team Leader or similar role within a warehouse, transport or logistics environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels
• A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices relevant to the industry
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with operational management systems
• Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of quality control and continuous improvement methodologies
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in supervisory management, health and safety, or related fields would be advantageous
