Job summary

MVC Resources seeks a Sustainability Engineer in Malaysia to bridge corporate strategy with plant operations, driving data-driven compliance and ambitious carbon footprint reduction initiatives. You will lead data governance, coordinate environmental initiatives, and collaborate with sites to develop actionable roadmaps across the Group of companies.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in sustainability, strong Mandarin/English/Bahasa Malaysia proficiency, and readiness to travel to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related Sustainability field.
• 2–3 years of proven experience in the environmental or sustainability sector; fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Deep familiarity with local and international environmental standards, with focus on Climate Change, Pollution Control, and Resource Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia for technical reporting; Mandarin proficiency is a significant advantage.
• Willingness to travel to various sites; advanced MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Monitoring: Plan and oversee sustainability management activities across the Group of companies to align with corporate goals.
• Data Governance: Lead collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative sustainability data to support transparent reporting.
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct site assessments to identify gaps and advise on corrective actions for regulatory compliance.
• Operational Integration: Collaborate with plant operation teams to develop and execute sustainability roadmaps.
• Environmental Conservation: Drive improvements in water security, air pollution control, recycling, and waste reduction.
• Research & Innovation: Identify areas such as renewable energy, climate change, and carbon footprint optimization.
• Social Impact & Advocacy: Analyze human impact on the environment and advise on social impact requirements.
• Stakeholder Advisory: Advise internal policymakers on environmental best practices and global standards.

Job Summary

As a Sustainability Engineer within the Group Sustainability team, you will be pivotal in shaping the organization’s green roadmap. You will bridge the gap between corporate strategy and plant operations, ensuring data-driven compliance and pioneering new initiatives in carbon footprint reduction and social responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

• Strategic Monitoring: Plan and oversee sustainability management activities across the entire Group of companies to ensure alignment with corporate goals.

• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular site assessments to identify implementation gaps and advise management on corrective actions for regulatory compliance.
  

• Operational Integration: Collaborate directly with plant operation teams to develop and execute actionable sustainability roadmaps.
  

• Environmental Conservation: Spearhead improvements in resource management, including water security, air pollution control, recycling, and waste reduction.
  

• Research & Innovation: Identify and investigate critical areas such as renewable energy, climate change, and carbon footprint optimization.
  

• Social Impact & Advocacy: Analyze human influence on the environment and advise departments on human rights and social impact requirements.
  

• Stakeholder Advisory: Act as a consultant to internal policymakers regarding environmental best practices and emerging global standards.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related Sustainability field.
  

• Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience in the environmental or sustainability sector.Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply. Internship experience in ESG, carbon footprinting, or ISO standards is a plus.
  

• Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with local and international environmental standards, with specific expertise in Climate Change, Pollution Control, and Resource Management.
  

• Soft Skills: Analytical mindset with creative problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  

• Communication: Proficiency in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for technical reporting; the ability to speak Mandarin is a significant advantage.
  

• Mobility: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and a willingness to travel to various sites as required.
