Job summary

Star Media Group Berhad is seeking an ESG Manager to drive our sustainability roadmap, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable impact across the group. The role involves leading data collection for reporting, coordinating audits, and embedding a culture of responsibility through training and engagement.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of sustainability experience, strong knowledge of reporting frameworks, and familiarity with Bursa Malaysia requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in risk management, CSR, or sustainability.
• Solid understanding of sustainability frameworks, data management, and reporting practices.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience or familiarity with Bursa Malaysia requirements on Risk and Sustainability.
• Professional certifications such as GRI, ISO 14001, LEED, WELL, PMP, TRUE, USGBC, or EPA/TSCA training are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the Corporate Sustainability Working Committee to execute a unified ESG roadmap, setting practical goals and KPIs.
• Act as an internal subject matter expert on ESG trends, regulatory shifts, and best practices.
• Champion employee engagement programs and deliver sustainability training across the organization.
• Lead data collection and management of the annual Sustainability Statement and support audits across vendors.
• Lead day-to-day ESG initiatives and operational projects.

We are looking for a dedicated ESG Manager to coordinate our sustainability roadmap, streamline operations, and drive meaningful change across our group. This is an exciting opportunity to act as the key operational engine behind our corporate sustainability journey and guide our group toward global sustainability excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Implementation: Coordinate and support the Corporate Sustainability Working Committee to execute a unified ESG roadmap, setting practical goals, operational KPIs, and tracking performance across departments.
• Internal Advisory & Trends: Act as an internal subject matter expert, keeping project teams and leadership informed on emerging ESG trends, regulatory shifts, and industry best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Culture: Champion employee engagement programs, deliver sustainability training, and collaborate with internal teams to embed a culture of responsibility throughout the organization.
• Reporting & Supply Chain Audits: Lead the hands-on data collection, drafting, and management of our annual Sustainability Statement, and support sustainability audits across our vendor network to ensure compliance with our standards.
• Project Execution: Lead day-to-day ESG initiatives and operational projects, balancing practical execution with long-term corporate responsibility goals.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 – 8 years of professional experience in risk management, CSR, or sustainability.
• Technical Expertise: Solid technical understanding of sustainability frameworks, data management, and reporting practices.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and engage external partners.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with Bursa Malaysia requirements on Risk and Sustainability is highly preferred.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as GRI, ISO 14001, LEED, WELL, PMP, TRUE, USGBC, or EPA/TSCA training are a strong advantage.
